SearStone Presents “A Healthy Way to Look At-Not-So-Great Health"

CARY, N.C. (March 4, 2009) – SearStone, a distinctly different continuing care retirement community (CCRC), is pleased to announce the latest presentation in its Aging Well by Living Well series. Serena Weisner, MS of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services will present a talk entitled “A Healthy Way to Look at Not-So-Great Health” on Thursday, March 19 at 2 p.m. at the SearStone Information Centre.
Weisner is the project coordinator for the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP) within the Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS), funded by the U.S. Administration on Aging. In this role, she works closely with seven regional coordinators across the state, as well as numerous key partners, to ensure the successful implementation of the CDSMP for people 60 and older. Prior to joining DAAS, Weisner was a senior program associate at the National Council on Aging’s Center for Healthy Aging in Washington, D.C
. “We’re very fortunate to have Serena Weisner at SearStone to present some very useful information on senior health,” said Laura Lowe, director of sales and marketing.
The SearStone Information Centre is located at 106 Walker Stone Drive in Cary, just off of Davis Drive, two-tenths of a mile south of the intersection with High House Road. The event is open to the general public, and refreshments will be provided.
