Memoir: An account of the personal experiences of the author.
The Cheerful Word mission is “To honor, encourage, and inspire individuals and families by preserving their legacies and connecting us across the generations.”
Sam Uhl, owner of The Cheerful Word is a personal historian living and preserving life stories in the city of Hendersonville set in the beautiful Western North Carolina Mountains. Her lifelong passion for preserving life stories began as she toddled from room to room listening to the amazing stories that her mother's nursing home residents freely told her. “It is deeply moving and encouraging to watch the face of an adult child hear the story of a parent and beam with pride, love, and often surprise! I am honored to be a part of the magic of story sharing as it creates deep bonds between the generations.”

If you can tell a story, then you can write a memoir. Think of it as storytelling, not story writing. We tell stories every day, all day, whether to ourselves or someone else. The stories we explore help us discover what’s really important to us, what we think about the world around us, and how we fit into our families and communities.
